World Civility Day 2023

World Civility Day is  April 6, Join us for the largest Civility event of its kind in the country.

Community Civility Counts” will host its 7th annual World Civility Day on Thursday, April 6, 2023. As usual, it will feature a full day of Civility themed activities. Beginning in the morning from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm at The Dean and Barbara White Center in Merrillville there will be Civility themed workshops covering a variety of topics. Some topics in the past have included anti-bullying, Workplace civility, and civil conduct under traumatic circumstances. Prospective presenters are encouraged to choose your topic and to reserve your spot as soon as possible.

The evening event to be held at The Avalon Manor in Merrillville will feature prominent speakers, dignitaries, and a host of others. Some of our notable past keynote speakers have included Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers, I-Change Nations, Dr. Carolyn Lukensmeyer, Executive Director of The National Institute for Civil Discourse, U.S. Congressman Frank Mrvan, U.S. Congressman Andre Carson, U.S.  Senator Todd Young, U.S.  Senator Mike Braun, Dr. Robert Rohm, creator of Personality Insights, Reverend Dr. Jeanette Wilson, National Executive Director of Push For Excellence and representing Governor Eric Holcomb Ms. Karrah Herring the state of Indiana’s Chief Diversity Officer who by the way presented a proclamation signed by the Governor declaring it World Civility Day in the entire state of Indiana.

In the past, our workshops have been well attended by students, adults, and visiting guests alike. Our evening Awards Dinner has attracted in excess of 300 people and includes the awarding of Community Civility Counts awards to deserving groups, organizations, businesses, and individuals.

Please join us in our effort to have Gary, Northwest Indiana and our great state of Indiana be the Civility Capitol of the world.

DEADLINE TO RESERVE SPACE: TBD

  • Table sponsor, Early Bird $650 by February 13, 2023: Tickets are $70 each for awards dinner
    and a table of 10 is $700.
  • VIP ticket, $90: Full-day access for an individual to day workshops, including awards dinner.
  • Awards Dinner ticket, $70 –
  • Day Workshops ticket, $30 per adult, $15 per student.
  • Other sponsorship levels are negotiable.
